The number of governments aiming to build national-scale digital public infrastructure is increasing.
A comprehensive picture of the state of current DPI is however, missing.
This project creates a map that measures DPI implementations around the world.
The DPI Map is setting up to launch its complete dataset on October 1, 2024. This website will have limited functionality in the meantime. Access the raw dataset here. Sign up for our newsletter to access the complete dataset.
The ‘State of DPI’
Based on a sample of 132 countries across all of Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the South and South East of Asia.

How did we get here?
The DPI Mapping project translates the normative qualities of DPI into a real-world measurable methodology.
To do so, we have:
- Analysed definitional and normative resources on digital public infrastructure, digital identity, digital payments, and data exchange systems, and;
- Screened public data repositories for evidence of these norms and qualities.
